The facility processes recycling for Brown County including residential and commercial sources with 784 tons of material collected in 2024. In addition to recycling, the facility has tire collection events, electronics collection events, document shredding, and trash collection program. Come tour and learn about how this facility provides programs to the Brown County community!

Discover how Indiana Land Protection Alliance and land trusts across the state work together to conserve Indiana’s natural and working landscapes, protect biodiversity, and ensure public access to nature. This introductory session will explore the mission and impact of land trusts, highlight intersections between land conservation and environmental stewardship, and showcase opportunities for collaboration to support cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable Indiana communities.

Dr. Peller will present the latest information associated with the plastic pollution crisis, from the predicted, unsustainable rise in plastic production to the threats of micro and nanoplastics in the environment and the human body. She will discuss the critical need to more fully educate the public about the problems associated with plastic materials and the solutions being implemented around the world, but not yet considered in the state of Indiana.
